Scavenger hunt

The Jewish People and the Jewish Religion

We are learning about the historical background to the memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel.

1. We watched two videos about Judaism (the Jewish Religion) and the Jewish people. Some things I found out were there are 613 commandments that Jews go by

  1. One thing I thought was interesting was that there are 7 rules of the Jews
  2. I would like to find out more about the camps that the Jewish had been sent to by the Natzi’s to have their life’s ended.

Different Types of Governments

We have been studying different types of Government. As part of this work, we looked at  scenarios for three different types of Government.  I worked in a group with names. The three different government types we created were:

    1. Constitutional Monarchy
  • Name of your second type
  • Name of your third type

Based on what we have studied so far, if I could choose any of these government types for a new country, I would pick constitutional monarchy (New Zealand) a constitutional monarchy is a system of government is where a monarch (King/ queen) serves as a symbolic of head state but their power is limited.     because A constitutional monarchy can offer benefits like national unity, stability, and a non-partisan figurehead, while reinforcing democratic legitimacy through traditional authority.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi: upholding its principles and contributing to our bicultural society

Limited Evidence Emerging Developing Accelerating Proficient
I don’t know much about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. I’m starting to understand Te Tiriti and its principles. I am learning about the partnership between Māori and Pākehā in our country. I’m getting better at upholding the principles of Te Tiriti, and I understand why it is important to help strengthen the partnership between Māori and Pākehā in our country. I take personal responsibility for following Te Tiriti’s principles and helping to build our bicultural community. I routinely uphold Te Tiriti’s principles and contribute to our bicultural and multicultural community.

I don’t like being a leader even when people encourage me. I’m okay with taking on small leadership roles when asked. I can step up and take on leadership responsibilities in some situations. I often show leadership and support others in achieving our goals. I lead by example and inspire others to work together.
